Plexiglass or acrylic crystal, two names to indicate the same material, transparent, bright, impact-resistant enough to be compared to a real crystal.
For more than a decade our company has mastered the union between the elegance of silver and gold plated and the processing of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) or more commonly PLEXIGLAS, an elegant material, resistant to impact, with a high transparency that is also called acrylic crystal for its transparency and brightness that makes it comparable to a real crystal.
The processing we carry out on the plexiglass consists in the reproduction of images through laser on the plate; another particular technique consists in incorporating finely embroidered fabrics between two sheets of plexiglass. The virtually invisible bonding makes the idea of a solid block of material, adding value to each creation and making them more sophisticated

Thanks to the excellent resistance to shocks, humidity and chemical agents we create customized models for the catering industry such as large hotels, famous catering and well-known banqueting.
THE ADVANTAGES OF PLEXIGLASS IN THE RESTAURANT SECTOR
The thermoplastic polymer was developed in 1928 in various European laboratories. In 1933 the German chemical industry Röhm officially introduced it into the market under the name of plexiglass®, a name that now identifies methacrylate objects. In 1936, instead, the first acrylic plate was produced by the English ICI Acrylics (today Lucite International, one of the most important PMMA companies in the world) called Perspex, from the Latin word “perspicio”, meaning "to see through".
Mechanically cold-worked or hot-stamped, the use you can make of it seems to be infinite and it totally lacks that greenish reflection that you will notice along the perimeter of a glass plate.
Although it is very easy for beginners to confuse the common plastic (PVC) with polymethacrylate, the latter is a material much more appreciated even by the aerospace industry. Furthermore, its biocompatibility with human tissues is used in the medical field for orthopaedic and orthodontic prostheses. The advantages in the catering sector are undoubted, in fact, not suffering from thermal shock in the event of two very different temperatures, the object does not break but settles down. Also, our plexiglass is safe in contact with food as it enjoys all the European certifications.
We chose this material since it does not stain like metal and is easily washable. If we think about cooking sauces or fats that can sometimes corrode the metal, sometimes we can limit the use of our most elegant objects. Using plexiglass in our work has been designed to limit the implementation of special care, ensuring less maintenance.
Our articles in silver plated and gold plated, are made of brass plate, subsequently silvered or gilded, acquiring the charm and elegance of precious metals.
Our collections, enriched with inserts or details in plexiglass, are distinguished by design, preciousness and accuracy.
Three concepts that Miotto wants to follow in order to propose a highly prestigious collection on the international market.
Thanks to the accuracy that distinguishes Miotto products, these collections undoubtedly have an affirmation in a market where class and taste are of the utmost importance.
TABLEWARE WITH PLEXIGLASS INSERTS
A very innovative solution in the furniture sector is based on the combination of plexiglass with silver plated and gold plated.
These elements are worked together by master craftsmen as highly customized items and are able to adapt to various needs.
Among the accessories and tableware that made this union famous, we include our rectangular and round trays.
Our food containers can have only the lid in plexiglass, only the bottom or even both components.
Our trolleys range from the simplest and most minimal solutions to the highly decorated ones, which can be enriched with serving dishes or customer requests for a varied and personalized design.
With plexiglass we also produce the handles of thermal carafes, coffee pots and teapots. We realize all the details of incense holders to tastefully match all the objects.
WHY MATCHING PLEXIGLASS WITH SILVER AND GOLD PLATED
The quality and beauty of silverware are essential in important occasions and our Plexiglas inserts are studied so that the final effect does not alter the charm and elegance of the items.
The insertion of the plexiglass in our processing does not generate negative effects on the final aesthetic result, on the contrary it makes the items more functional
